It is important to understand the shoulder. We never thing about them until we have pain. The shoulder has 3 major joints. Most people think of “rotator cuff” when they get an injury or pain. The shoulder is very mobile and is the most flexible joint in the body. Unfortunately there is a price for all that mobility.

The biggest problem is overuse injuries, the kind that comes from a repetitive motion. The shoulder is vulnerable to overuse injuries because of their structure. The shoulder relies on the surrounding muscle, connective tissue, and ligaments to function to be stable. Here are 5 ways to keep your shoulders safe and strong at the gym:
